How To Start The Quest

For you to have access to the Exotic quest you will have to first complete the Tracing the Stars I, II, and III quests, which asks you to go and find Atlas Skews, and then deposit them in an Atlas Terminal.

So, once you’ve completed the Season of the Lost’s introductory mission, travel to the H.E.L.M. and the Awoken wing of the H.E.L.M. will have a portal that will lead you to Queen Mara’s chamber.

Then speak to Queen Mara Sov to receive the Tracing the Stars quest. She will ask you to find Atlas Skews tied to Ager’s Scepter.

Tracing The Stars I

Tracing The Stars I

You can find the first set of five Atlas Skews in the Dreaming City’s Divalian Mists and Spine of Keres.

Fortunately, the quest description gives you a fairly good idea of where you can find each Atlas Skew.

But if you aren’t too familiar with the Dreaming City, you can watch below an in-depth guide for the Atlas Skews locations by Esoterickk.

Tracing The Stars II

Tracing The Stars II

The second set of five Atlas Skews can be found in The Strand and in the Gardens of Esila.

You’ll find two in The Strand, two in the Gardens of Esila, and one in the Aphelion’s Rest Lost Sector.

You can watch below the Atlas Skews locations guide by Esoterickk.

Tracing The Stars III

Tracing The Stars III

The third set of five Atlas Skews can be found in the Rheasilvia and Harbinger’s Seclude areas.

You can watch below the Atlas Skews locations guide by Esoterickk.

A Hollow Coronation Exotic Quest

A Hollow Coronation

Once you’ve completed the previous three Tracing The Stars quests, travel to the Wayfinder’s Compass in the H.E.L.M.

At this point, it should now be available for you to grab the “A Hollow Coronation” exotic quest. Grab it and the first major step will be for you to find a final set of five Atlas Skews.

Atlas Skews Locations

A Hollow Coronation

In this step, you will have to find a final set of five Atlas Skews, but this time they will be in The Confluence.

The Confluence is a hidden part of the Dreaming City that can only be accessed through Taken portals scattered throughout the zone.

As always you can watch below these Atlas Skews locations as well as how to reach The Confluence in this detailed guide by Esoterickk.

With that done, you will have then to via the Director select A Hollow Coronation, and interact with the final Atlas Terminal.

This will open a portal in the center that will allow you to reach a new area within the Caliburn Gatehouse.

This new area will be where you will find the Ager’s Scepter, however, it will be inaccessible, protected by a dome shield, for now.

A Hollow Coronation

After attempting to claim the Ager’s Scepter, go speak to Queen Mara Sov to learn that you will need to do a couple more steps before you will be able to claim the new exotic.

Parallax Trajectory And Rifle Kills

A Hollow Coronation

In this step, you must play seasonal activity Astral Alignment and defeat combatants with rifles, and collect 100 Parallax Trajectory.

For rifle kills, any rifle named weapon will do the job, like auto rifles, scout rifles, pulse rifles, and so on, and as for the Parallax Trajectory, this can be collected from any activity across the system.

Completing Astral Alignment rounds will surely complete the Parallax Trajectory step, but If you somehow don’t complete that step after it, you can do playlist activities, a single run will for sure finish that step.

Astral Alignment Champions And Supers

A Hollow Coronation

For this next step, you will have to play some more Astral Alignment and defeat 18 Champions and 20 combatants with Supers.

So, choose a Super that allows you to defeat large groups of enemies in one sitting, you also have the Raid Banner option at the start of each round to get an instant Super.

As for Champions, make sure you equip all relevant Champion Mods, and fortunately, you don’t need to land final blows on a Champion to complete this step, you just need to damage them before they die to gain progress.

You will need to complete around 2-3 Astral Alignment matches to finish this step.

Collect Strands Of Nobility

A Hollow Coronation

Once you’ve completed the above step, you must then collect Strands of Nobility from the final boss chests of the Lake of Shadows (EDZ), The Disgraced (Cosmodrome), and The Glassway (Europa) Strikes.

For this, all you need to do is select each Strike from the Director in their respective planet and the Strand of Nobility will drop once you complete the Strike.

Claim Agers Scepter

A Hollow Coronation

With all that done, return to the H.E.L.M. and speak with Queen Mara Sov, she will then give you a Noble Seal, an item that will be placed in your Kinetic weapon slot.

Grab it, and then select the “A Hollow Coronation” mission from the Director one last time.

You will now be able to interact with the Ager’s Scepter and finally claim it.

Now with your new exotic unlocked you just have to complete the mission. Use Ager’s Scepter to destroy the shining rocks and progress through the mission.

When you’re dealing damage to the rocks they glow a bright white color. The path ahead will be swarmed with Hive enemies, and then you will have to defeat Kelgorath, Risen from Bones.

A Hollow Coronation

Once you’ve completed the mission return to the H.E.L.M. and speak with Queen Mara Sov one last time to finish the quest.

Perks And Catalyst

Destiny 2 Ager's Scepter

As mentioned before, Ager’s Scepter is an Exotic Stasis Trace Rifle that occupies the Kinetic slot and uses special ammo.

This exotic weapon comes with the following perks:

  • Ager’s Call: Final blows with this weapon generate a slowing burst around the defeated target.
  • Arrowhead Brake: +30 Recoil and +10 Handling
  • Particle Repeater: +10 Stability
  • Rega’s Refrain: Stasis final blows transfer ammo to this weapon’s magazine from reserves.
  • Hand-Laid Stock: +10 Stability

In addition, as you already did in the “A Hollow Coronation” mission, you also can use Ager’s Scepter to destroy some rocks that you can find in the Shattered Realm mission.

Behind these rocks, you can find Ascendant Anchors and hidden chests that grant you loot and Triumphs.

How To Get The Catalyst

Destiny 2 Ager's Scepter

To unlock the Ager’s Scepter catalyst, you have to complete matches of the Astral Alignment activity. You will then have to open Wayfinder’s Troves for a chance for it to drop.

Wayfinder’s Troves is one of the final chests of the Astral Alignment activity that costs 150 Parallax Trajectory to open, or 100 if you’ve upgraded your Wayfinder’s Compass perks.

However the Catalyst isn’t guaranteed to drop, so you might have to run the Astral Alignment activity quite a few times to get the Catalyst to drop.

To then fully Masterwork and unlock the Catalyst, you must defeat a lot of enemies with this exotic weapon.

In addition, defeating enemies with precision final blows will speed up the progress, and using the weapon to destroy Illusory Barriers, the shining rocks, in the Shattered Realm also grants additional progress.

Catalyst Perk

Once the Catalyst is fully Masterworked, it adds the following perk:

  • Will Given Form: Hold reload to drain Super energy, overflowing the magazine and empowering the beam with bonus damage and the ability to slow and freeze targets until the magazine or Super energy runs out, or the weapon is stowed. Can only be activated when Super energy is full.
