How To Get Winterbite In Destiny 2 Lightfall

Look no further for a guide on how to get Winterbite in Destiny 2, this new Exotic weapon introduced in Destiny 2’s Lightfall expansion is a Stasis heavy glaive that shoots orbs that freeze enemies.

You can unlock Winterbite by completing the “Strider” exotic quest, which only becomes available after you complete the Lightfall campaign.

You’ll have to unlock the Hall of Heroes and complete three other quests before, to then unlock the “Strider” exotic quest.

You’ll be guided through Neomuna, completing new activities such as Terminal Overload and Partition along the way.

We’ll go over how to get the Winterbite heavy glaive and how to complete the “Strider” quest in this Destiny 2 guide.

How To Get Winterbite In Destiny 2

Complete the Lightfall campaign;
Unlock the Hall of Heroes;
Complete the Stargazer quest;
Complete the Maelstrom quest;
Complete the Bluejay quest;
Complete the Strider exotic quest.

How To Start The Strider Quest

The “Strider” exotic quest can be found in Quinn Laghari’s stand in the Hall of Heroes on Neomuna, but to unlock this area you must first complete the Lightfall campaign.

After completing the campaign you will have to do the Welcome to the Hall of Heroes quest which will unlock and introduce the Hall of Heroes. You’ll just need to go interact with some quest markers around the area and listen to their audio.

When you unlock the Hall of Heroes, you’ll be able to interact with Quinn Laghari, and she will have four different quests:

“Stargazer”
“Maelstrom”
“Bluejay”
“Strider”

You’ll have to complete these quests in this order to then unlock the “Strider” quest which will reward you the Winterbite.

Stargazer Quest

Completing the Welcome to the Hall of Heroes quest will unlock the Stargazer quest which will send you to complete the new Terminal Overload activity in Lightfall.

Loot the Terminal Overload reward chest at the end of the activity;
Defeat the Vex Hydra in Esi Terminal to obtain a high-security passcode;
Obtain a Terminal Override Key by completing public events, looting chests, or completing patrols;
Use a key to open Terminal Overload Key Chest;
Return to a Hall of Heroes to repair Stargazer’s memorial;
Return to Quinn to discuss the next steps.

Maelstrom Quest

After completing the Stargazer quest, return to Quinn in the Hall of Heroes to begin this quest.

Bond with Strand sources, and participate in public events, patrols, and loot resources, all within the Vex Incursion Zone;
Complete the Lost Sector within the Vex Incursion Zone;
Return to the Hall of Heroes to repair Maelstrom’s memorial;
Return to Quinn to discuss the next steps.

You can find Strand sources to bond with all around the area and also when you’re in the Terminal Overload event, just look around and you’ll find one for sure.

Bluejay Quest

After completing the Maelstrom quest, return to Quinn in the Hall of Heroes to begin this quest.

Visit Nimbus.
Defeat combatants in the current Vex Incursion Zone with a Strand subclass equipped to obtain Shellcode Fragments, and open a Terminal Overload Key Chest to obtain a Polymorphic Engine.
Complete the Partition activity.
Return to the Hall of Heroes to repair Bluejay’s memorial.
Return to Quinn to discuss the next steps.

Strider Quest

After completing the Bluejay quest, return to Quinn in the Hall of Heroes to begin this quest. Strider is the final quest in the sequence, and it will grant you the Winterbite exotic once you complete it.

Step 1:

Complete a Terminal Overload activity in each of Neomuna’s three zones. Because Terminal Overload rotates on a daily basis, you’ll need to spread this process out over three days.

Step 2:

Travel to Ahimsa Park and loot the Gilded Precept Lost Sector. Defeat all the Shadow Legion inside and loot the chest at the end. The entrance to the lost sector can be a little bit tricky to find, so you can see the location below.

You’ll also need to find location data by defeating Shadow Legion forces in Neomuna, but you can go straight into the Lost Sector because it is already full of Shadow Legion forces.

Step 3:

Travel back to Quinn and repair Strider’s memorial in the Hall of Heroes.

Step 4:

Travel to Maya’s Retreat, located in Liming Park, and be prepared for a fight. The moment you enter the area, Vex enemies will appear along with an icon-marked Hydra.
