How to Unlock Fragments and Aspects in Destiny 2 Beyond Light Quick Guide
- Complete the Beyond Light campaign;
- Speak with the Exo Stranger on Europa to get the Born in Darkness quest;
- Complete the Born in Darkness quest;
- Complete the Aspect of Control quest;
- Complete Fragment Quests;
- Return to the Exo Stranger and redeem your Fragment.
Step 1: Complete The Campaign
To start things up the first thing you need to do on How to Unlock Fragments and Aspects in Destiny 2 Beyond Light is complete the Beyond Light campaign.
Once you have finished the campaign you will need to visit the Exo Stranger on Europa and she will give you the Born in Darkness quest, which is the initial quest to unlocking the Fragments and Aspects.
Step 2: Born in Darkness
Now you will have to complete the Born in Darkness quest and as you can see in the image above the first step is to:
- Collect 50 Energized Ether by defeating Fallen on Europa
- Defeat 10 enemies on Europa with Stasis melee final blows
Once you have done that your quest will update and you will have to:
- Complete 3 Strikes with Stasis equipped
- Defeat 60 targets affected by Stasis in Playlist Strikes
For the next step, you will need to defeat Weniks and their platoon in Eternity on Europa.
After you complete all the above steps, you will now need to bring the Skeleton Key to the Exo Stranger in the Bunker E15 Lost Sector.
She will be at the very end of the Lost Sector after the Chest room, standing by a computer terminal.
And this is where you will need to use the Skeleton Key.
And the final step in the Born in Darkness quest is just to go speak with the Exo Stranger, but this time in Beyond, the place where she normally is.
When you speak with her she will give you the Aspect of Control quest, which is the next step to unlock the Fragments and Aspects.
Step 3: Aspect of Control
Now you will have to complete the Aspect of Control quest, which will award you your first aspect at the end.
And the first step in this quest is for you to find 5 Entropic Shards on Europa, but they are not marked on the map or anywhere.

However, in order to actually destroy the Entropic Shards, you will need to shoot them with specifically the Salvation’s Grip Exotic Grenade Launcher.
So if you haven’t unlocked it yet you may want to do that now because you will absolutely need that Exotic to continue this quest.

Once you have got that done your quest will update and now you will have to return to the Crux of Darkness in the Riis-Reborn Approach.
Here you will have to interact with the big Shard of Darkness in the center of the room.
You will have to Commune, then defeat all the enemies that will spawn, and then Commune again.
And with that, you will receive your first Aspect depending on your Class.
As I play with a Hunter I received Shatterdive.
Step 4: Fragment Quests
Now if you go speak with the Exo Stranger, her screen will be changed, and now she will be offering Fragment Quests.
There will be two quests available for you to get, which you will be able to choose in what activity you want to do, you can choose between Crucible, Vanguard, and Gambit activities.
The Fragment Quests that you get are random, and it will take a bit of grinding to get them done.
Once you have completed a Fragment Quest you will receive a Memory Fragment.
With that, you go back to the Exo Stranger and you will have the option to turn in your Memory Fragment and redeem a Fragment.
