Destiny 2 Wrathborn Hunt Guide | Season Of The Hunt

Destiny 2 Wrathborn Hunt guide

Season of the Hunt has arrived in Destiny 2, and this new season brings back to us Uldren Sov, the man who killed Cayde-6, but this time resurrected as a Guardian named Crow.

This season introduced some new activities and that is why we have created this Destiny 2 Wrathborn Hunt guide to help you understand it better.

To start things up you will need to head to the Moon and start the Trail of the Haunted quest, where you will have to rescue a Ghost-less Osiris from the Hive.

Besides that, you will meet the Crow and his ghost, Glint, as they help you rescue Osiris.

After that, you will have to meet with Spider in the Tangled Shore and he and the Crow will explain that they need your help clearing out some Hive and Fallen in a new activity: Wrathborn Hunts.

Then you will have to speak with the Crow, that stands just to the left of Spider, and he will give you the Cryptolith Lure.

Once you have got the Cryptolith Lure, you will need to charge it and equip it with some mods before you can go on a Wrathborn Hunt.

Charging The Cryptolith Lure

The Cryptolith Lure is a Hive artifact that stays in your quests tab, similar to the Chalice of Opulence.

When you hover over it you can see two bars, one indicating your charging progression and the other indicating how many charges you have, being three the total charges it can get at a time.

To charge the Cryptolith Lure, you will need to complete Strikes, Crucible, or Gambit activities.

Each strike or match progresses around 33% of a full charge.

But each day there is a bonus objective that lets you get more progression in one of the given activities, like in the image above, defeating combatants with precision damage in Strikes.

You will need at least one full charge in your Cryptolith Lure before you are able to engage in a Wrathborn Hunt.

Setting Up The Cryptolith Lure

When you have a charge, you can customize the Cryptolith Lure with upgrades and mods.

In the first mod slot, you can choose who you will hunt, and each hunt awards you a piece of loot.

The rewards for each hunt are randomized, which means that every time you choose a hunt even if it is the same, the reward will be changed.

Select the hunt you want and then you will have to select two more mods.

Choosing these two mods will depend on the reward you have selected because you will be able to apply different mutations to your lure.

For example, if you choose to get an armor piece, you can use mods to dictate what kind of stats you will receive.

And if you choose to get a weapon, you can use mods to exclude certain perks from the perk pool or dictate the Masterwork stat.

If you are unable to select a mod in the tier 2 slot, you must select an empty mod.

You can acquire mods from all kinds of activities, but you can also buy them from the Crow with Glimmer.

To fully prepare the Cryptolith Lure you will need to select a mod or a Dormant mod (an empty mod).

How To Start And Complete A Wrathborn Hunt

Once you have set up your Cryptolith Lure you will get a mission icon, if you selected a Fallen Boss it will be in the Tangled Shore and if you selected a Hive Boss it will be in the Dreaming City.

Travel to the mission icon and you will reach a Cryptolich sticking out of the ground, walk up to it and place your Lure.

With that done a Boss will spawn with some enemies, and you will have to damage the Boss until it runs away.

When the Boss runs away it will leave behind a scent, you will need to interact with it and then follow the green glowing goop trail.

Once you spawn in the new area, you will have to follow the path until you reach another Cryptolich.

Place your Lure once again, and the Boss that runaway will spawn again, kill it and the real targeted Boss will spawn.

Whichever Boss you have chosen to hunt, will spawn with a shield, and to take down its shield you will have to look around the room and find an enemy that is glowing green.

Kill that glowing green enemy, which has the Wrathful buff that you need to kill the Boss, and a green glowing pool will appear, go inside it, and you will gain the buff and be able to deal damage to the Boss.
