How To Start The Parasite Quest
To get access to the “Of Queens and Worms” exotic quest you will have to first complete the Witch Queen campaign, and the difficulty at which you complete the campaign does not matter.
Once you’ve completed the Witch Queen campaign, travel to the Enclave on Mars and speak with Ikora, she will then give you the exotic quest.
Of Queens and Worms Exotic Quest
Speak with Mara Sov
After completing the campaign and acquiring the exotic quest, you just have to go to the bottom of the enclave, behind the crafting relic, and speak with Mara Sov.
There, Mara Sov will ask you to revive Savathun’s dead worm, which Mara is claiming she will then host herself in exchange for information about Savathun.
To save the worm you will have to find some incubators like the one at the enclave.
Complete the Birthplace of the Vile Strike
After speaking with Mara Sov she will ask you to complete the “Birthplace of the Vile” strike.
You can access this strike through the map on Savathun’s Throne World on the Destination tab.
Progress through the Strike as normal until you reach the end, right after killing the “Heimiks, Warden of the Harvest” to complete the strike, use your Deepsight ability to find an incubator at the back of the room.
This will be the first of several incubators in which you will have to place the Hive Worm.
Locate a Cryptoglyph Rune
After completing the Birthplace of the Vile strike, travel to Savathun’s Throne World and speak with Fynch.
Fynch will then ask you to locate a Cryptoglyph rune in the Temple of the Cunning.
You can see the Cryptoglyph location on the map, set it as your objective, and travel there, once you arrive, you just have to defeat a bunch of Scorn and then you will receive the Cryptoglyph.
Charge the Cryptoglyph Rune
This step requires you to charge the Cryptoglyph rune and to do that you just have to kill 100 Scorn on Savathun’s Throne World.
A fast way to do this is to just go to the Extraction Lost Sector in Quagmire, this Lost Sector has a lot of Scorn and you will be done with this step very quickly.
Locate an incubator within the Sepulcher Lost Sector
Once you’ve fully charged the Cryptoglyph Rune, you will then have to find the entrance to the Sepulcher Lost Sector.
The Sepulcher Lost Sector can be found within the Florescent Canal on the Throne World.
After entering the Lost Sector the quest will change and you will have to locate another Hive Incubator, similar to the one in the strike.
Progress through the Lost Sector as normal and complete it, then at the center of the room, you can use your Deepsight ability to discover a passage to the room behind the statue that is in front of the Lost Sector chest.
There you will find the Hive Incubator to place Savathun’s Worm.
Complete three Patrols in the Florescent Canal
Well, this step is pretty explicit, you just have to travel to the Florescent Canal in the Throne World and complete three Patrols.
You can do the ones that just need you to scan an object which only takes a couple of seconds. The ones that require you to kill enemies can take longer because you will have to kill around 20 to 30 enemies.
Locate a second Cryptoglyph Rune
After you’ve completed the three Patrols, you will then have to find another Cryptoglyph rune, this time in Queen’s Bailey.
And again, you can see the Cryptoglyph location on the map, set it as your objective, and travel there, you can access the Queen’s Bailey region from the most northern point of the Florescent Canal.
Once you get there, this time you just have to defeat some waves of Hive, and then you will receive the Cryptoglyph.
Locate an incubator within the Metamorphosis Lost Sector
As in the previous step, in this one, you just have to find another incubator, but this time in the Metamorphosis Lost Sector.
The Metamorphosis Lost Sector can be found within the Miasma on Savathun’s Throne World.
And like before, progress through the Lost Sector as normal and complete it, then just beside the Lost Sector chest you can use your Deepsight ability to discover a passage to another room where you will find the incubator to place Savathun’s Worm.
Locate the final Crytopglyph Rune
In this step, you have to find the final Cryptoglyph rune, and this one is in the Alluring Curtain on Savathun’s Throne World.
Yet again, you can see the Cryptoglyph location on the map, set it as your objective, and travel there.
To get to the Alluring Curtain area you will have to go through the Quagmire south, and then you will have to use the Deepsight ability to see the platforms that will make the path to this area.
Once you get there, you just have to defeat some more waves of the Hive.
Find a Deepsight Cache
With the previous step failing to acquire the Cryptoglyph rune, Fynch will then ask you to look around the Alluring Curtain area using the Deepsight ability to find a Deepsight cache.
So, in the same location where you just fought the Hive, you will have a place to activate the Deepsight ability, after activating it, a series of platforms will appear.
Some of the platforms will have a torch, shoot all three torches to ignite them and the cache will spawn back next to where you activated the Deepsight.
Locate an incubator within the Extraction Lost Sector
In this step, much like the others prior, you will have to find another incubator, but this time in the Extraction Lost Sector.
The Extraction Lost Sector can be found within the Quagmire area on Savathun’s Throne World.
Just progress through the Lost Sector as normal and complete it, then in the room right after the Lost Sector chest, you will be able to activate the Deepsight ability to discover a passage to another room where you will find another incubator to place Savathun’s Worm.
Complete the Parasitic Pilgrimage
After locating the final incubator, you will have to go and talk to Fynch, as he will give you a Hive Casing, and then you will have to complete the “Parasitic Pilgrimage” mission.
The Parasitic Pilgrimage mission can be found in the middle of the Florescent Canal area.
The mission will require you to prevent Savathun’s Worm from exploding, to do that you will have to run through some energy wells while holding the Hive Worm.
Nearly at the end of the mission, you will have to deliver Savathun’s Worm to Mara Sov so that she can perform the ritual.
With that, still, in this mission, you will receive the Destiny 2 Parasite, your new Exotic Grenade Launcher, that shoots exploding Worms!
Then you will be able to test the new weapon in the mission to defend Mara Sov from the Scorn.
