Once you’ve done that, you’ll receive the Memory of Sai Mota quest. It may not be so obvious at first, but this is the first step to acquiring the Exotic Rocket Launcher.

How To Start The Deathbringer Quest
The first thing you need to do is to complete the Shadowkeep campaign, which ends with the Beyond mission. Once you’ve completed the campaign you will receive the Memory of Sai Mota quest.
The Memory of Sai Mota quest will ask you to access the System Core Vault and to do that you will have to do the Lunar Splunker Weekly Bounty from Eris Morn.
To complete the Lunar Splunker bounty you will need to complete the K1 Communion, K1 Logistics, and K1 Crew Quarters Lost Sectors.
Once you’ve done that, you will receive the Firewall Data Fragment which you will need to access the System Core Vault.
You will then need to take the Firewall Data Fragment to the System Core Vault that is located within the K1 Revelation Lost Sector.
To locate the System Core Vault, go through the Lost Sector until you are at the end chest area. Then look at it from the ground below, look right and up, and in the wall, you will see a walkway with a circular opening.
Jump up there and at the end of the tunnel, there is a glass door with a prompt, allowing you to use the Firewall Data Fragment.
Open the door, and use the console inside, to then complete this quest step and update the Memory of Sai Mota quest to Sai Mota’s Broken Necklace quest.
How To Complete Sai Motas Broken Necklace
In this step, you will have to kill Nightmare enemies in the Moon using Arc abilities to get Necklace Scraps.
The source of the nightmares doesn’t matter as long as it’s on the Moon, you can complete this step very quickly just by doing Altars of Sorrow.
Once you complete this, go speak with Eris Morn, but she will not be in the usual place, go to the location where she uses to be and now there will be a portal there.
Go through the portal, follow the path until you reach Eris, then speak to her to give her the repaired necklace.
After you speak with Eris, open the chest to the side to receive your rewards, and one of the rewards will be the Symphony of Death exotic quest which is the quest that will reward you the Deathbringer.
How To Start The Deathbringer Quest In Beyond Light
Note that, not with entire certainty, it seems that now after the Beyond Light expansion release you can find the Symphony of Death quest in the Quest Archive in the Tower.
So, if you are still after the Deathbringer, you may go and check your Quest Archive for the Symphony of Death exotic quest, and if it is there you can just grab it and skip the previous steps to acquire it.
You just will need to complete the Symphony of Death exotic quest to get the Deathbringer.
How To Complete Symphony Of Death
Faculties of the Skull
The first step to start the Symphony of Death exotic questline demands you to explore the Circle of Bones, which is an area deep underground in the Moon.
To get there, you need to head to the Hellmouth and go underground. Once there, you’ll have a quest marker to activate for the Faculties of the Skull mission.
Follow the guide below from ZaFrostPet with the exact location:
Once that is done, you then have to speak to Eris Morn again, and then complete the Marrow’s Elegy step.
For the Marrow’s Elegy step you will have to collect three different bones and to do so you will have to:
- Festering Bone: Complete a public event near the Hellmouth area
- Ritualistic Bone: Complete K1 Revelation Lost sector ( you will find the bone by opening the end chest)
- Bone Collector’s Marrow: Find the wandering Bone Collector
You can find the Bone Collector in the Anchor of Light area, he usually spawns right near the entrance, as you come from where Eris is.
But It’s also possible that he could appear in more places or have a long cooldown once defeated. Just keep looking around for a Hive with a yellow health bar.

Kill The High Conductor Sulmakta
For this step, you need to kill the High Conductor Sulmakta that is located within the Scarlett Keep strike.
There is no special version of the strike, you just need to access the strike from the Director screen on the Moon.
Just progress through the strike as normal until the elevator section, once you are going up in the elevator you will need to get off at the second stop, which is where the enemy will spawn.
Watch the guide from Esoterickk with the exact location of the High Conductor Sulmakta:
Of Darkest Harmony
This step is pretty straightforward but a bit tedious, it will ask you to complete three steps:
- Discomfort recorded: Defeat regular enemies;
- Pained cries recorded: Defeat elites and mini-bosses;
- Anguished screams recorded: Defeat bosses or other Guardians.
Note that by doing these steps on the Moon will complete it quicker.
Choir of the Damned
Once you’ve completed the previous step, you will then reach the final step that requires you to return to the Circle of Bones.
This time you will have to complete a different mission named Choir of the Damned, in which you will have to defeat Ir Airam, Deathsinger.
You can watch below Esoterickk completing the mission solo:
After you’ve completed the mission you just need to return to Eris and receive your new Deathbringer Exotic Rocket Launcher.
