Destiny 2 Cloudstrike is the new Exotic sniper rifle added with the Beyond Light expansion, right after the release of the Deep Stone Crypt raid.

The thing is, that Cloudstrike doesn’t have an Exotic quest, instead, you will need to unlock the Elected Difficulty Empire Hunts and grind for Cloudstrike, as it is a rare drop of that activity.

How To Get Destiny 2 Cloudstrike Quick Guide

1. Unlock Empire Hunts;
2. Complete A Hard Rain Falls;
3. Complete Variks Sabotage: Europan Explorer II;
4. Farm Elected Difficulty Empire Hunts.

Step 1: Unlock Empire Hunts

For you to get access to the Elected Difficulty Empire Hunts, you will first have to complete all post-campaign quests from Variks.

With that done, you will unlock the Sabotage missions and the ability to purchase Empire Hunts from Variks.

Step 2: Complete A Hard Rain Falls

For this step, you will need to go and speak with the Exo Stranger, as she should have a new mission for you, called A Hard Rain Falls.

With the release of the Deep Stone Crypt raid, also was released the A Hard Rain Falls quest as well as a new activity called Eclipsed Zone on Europa.

If you look on your map on Europa, now you can see the Eclipsed Zone, which rotates every week.

Pick up that quest from the Exo Stranger and you will have to kill enemies or do activities in the current Eclipsed Zone.

The best activities to do to complete this fast, are Heroic Public Events and Patrols but don’t forget that you will have to complete these activities inside the current Eclipsed Zone.

With that done, you will unlock the final set of Variks Sabotage missions.

Step 3: Complete Variks Sabotage: Europan Explorer II

Once you have completed the A Hard Rain Falls quest from the Exo Stranger, you should be able to purchase at least two more Sabotage missions from Variks, the Europan Explorer 1 and 2.

Note that If you have completed the quest and still have no access to the Sabotage: Europan Explorer I, you may need to complete the previous Sabotage missions first.

You will have to complete the Europan Explorer II to gain access to the Elected Difficulty Empire Hunts.

Europan Explorer I

First, you will have to complete the Europan Explorer I, in which you will need to kill enemies with Kinetic, Energy, and Heavy weapons on Europa.

Europan Explorer II

With the Europan Explorer I completed, you can now complete the Europan Explorer II, in which you will need to kill 30 powerful enemies in Empire Hunts.

To do that, I recommend picking up the Dark Priestess Empire Hunt from Variks.

You will have to first complete the attunement steps to get the mission flag, and those steps won’t count towards the Sabotage mission progress, only the kills in the final mission will count.

In the Dark Priestess Empire Hunt, there are many powerful enemies (yellow bar enemies), so if you kill them all you will finish the Sabotage mission even before you finish the Empire Hunt.

But if you reach the end of the Empire Hunt and you still need some kills, just kill yourself to reach a later checkpoint or abandon the activity and start the mission again.

Because acquiring and completing the steps for another Empire Hunt takes a lot more time and effort.

Step 4: Farm Elected Difficulty Empire Hunts

Once the Sabotage: Europan Explorer II is completed, you will have access to the Elected Difficulty Empire Hunts in your map on Europa, and this is where you will be able to get the Cloudstrike.

Cloudstrike is a rare drop in the Elected Difficulty Empire Hunts, although you can switch between difficulty in this activity the Cloudstrike drop remains as rare in all of them.

With that, you will want to select the Adept difficulty as it is the easier one, try to avoid the enemies, and engage in combat only when needed to complete a run much faster.

If you do that you can complete a run in about 5 minutes, making it a lot faster to farm, because you can get lucky and get it first try or it can take you two hours to get it.

The Cloudstrike Exotic Sniper Rifle

Cloudstrike Exotic perk is Mortal Polarity, which causes lightning to strike on the enemy location if you kill it with a precision final blow. 

This deals massive damage to nearby enemies, and it can one-shot enemy Guardians in PvP.

Its secondary perk is Stormbringer, which creates a lightning storm if you hit multiple-precision shots, which can be good to increase Boss damage.
